He totally deserved Oscar.

yes, the Academy has political criteria also, but we cant say that because sean penn make the roll of his life there acording to most critics
May 11th, 2010 at 10:02 am
it broke my heart when he talked about his dog

Im spanish and not very aware of US showbizz, but this guy looks to have passed through a rough time and learned from it and become a great person, congratulations for him

@ParadiseOnLand perhaps you should watch “9 1/2 Weeks” and/or “Wild Orchid.” He’s f’in gorgeous in both those movies … not to say he’s not attractive now, but in those previous movies, his looks were, shall I say, more chiseled, less rugged.

The only reason Sean Penn won the Oscar over Mickey’s performance is because the Academy was scared to piss off the gay community like they did when they awarded Crash Best Picture years earlier. Harvey Milk is a respected figure in the gay community. The Oscars are too political.
As long as fans know that Mickey was the better man that year, that’s what really counts.

I didn’t know who he was before “the Wrestler”, but now I think he’s awsome, not just as an actor, but as a person. He is a good person and loves dogs.
May 11th, 2010 at 12:54 pm
He’s scary-looking.
May 11th, 2010 at 1:24 pm
His honesty is refreshing! A good, good man.

Hat off to you.

I’d like to see him do the Barfly movie now it was good but I think he would do it 10x better now. He was a bit of a punk when he did it in the 80′s.
